Gitte Stald, associate professor, the IT University, Denmark. Head of study program Digital Design and Communication. Main research area is digital media cultures and social change with a focus on mobile media and on youth. Recent research and development projects are Global Media Cultures 1999-2001, The MacArthur Foundation’s series on Youth, Digital Media and Learning 2006-7, Mobile Content Lab 2004-6, Mobile E-Learning for Dyslectics 2006-7, EU Kids Online 2006-14, COST action ISO801: Cyberbullying: Coping with negative and enhancing positive uses of new technologies in relation to educational settings. A major part of my work within mobile communication and social change is based on an ongoing study of young Danes’ uses of mobile phones. The same (basic + updated) survey has been repeated in 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2011. We do also repeat the same survey on acvanced uses of mobile phones among ITU students every 6 months.
